Sugata Mitra shows how kids teach themselves

If kids can learn something complicated like surfing the Internet without adult supervision, or in some cases, without even knowing English, then what are teachers for? To inspire, challenge, and ask the right questions that push kids forward into learning at an accelerated rate.

Note carefully how all kids learn faster after the first kid discovers how to use the touch pad or click on a link. Why? Because knowledge spreads faster through social interactions. If kids didn’t learn by seeing and talking to other kids, this learning would be much slower.
